an excellent platform

Who should consider a TeleDermatology Visit?

All existing patients who have seen a provider at Damascus Dermatology can benefit from a follow up virtual visit. Acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, rashes, hair loss, and hyperhidrosis are just a few examples of skin conditions that can be addressed well with TeleDermatology. A virtual visit is an excellent platform for these conditions that may require physical treatments or procedures in the future (i.e. biopsy-proven skin precancers and cancers, scars, skin discoloration, cosmetic concerns, etc).

What TeleDermatology can't do?

TeleDermatology is limited in its ability to accurately diagnose skin cancer. Diagnosis of skin cancer often requires up-close inspection of the lesion under magnification (a process called dermoscopy) and a subsequent biopsy. Also, procedures such as biopsy, freezing or removal of skin lesions cannot be performed virtually.
